My language motor skills comprehension and memory are affected just as much as my reading.

Why can't dyslexics read. Some see dyslexia as distinct. While typical readers show increased left brain activation for such tasks such activity is correlated with weaker reading skills in among dyslexics. Its a learning disability that has nothing to do with their intelligence.

P eople with dyslexia have difficulty reading letters and words. While these characteristics may be part of the problem with some individuals they are NOT the most common or most important attributes. Dyslexia is not a specific condition but is the name given to a collection of learning difficulties.

The common myths about dyslexia are that dyslexics read backwards and reverse words and letters. Adult dyslexics who read well show an inverse pattern of brain use when performing phonetic tasks. In order to read one has to perceive the letters in sequence and also remember what word is represented by the sequence of letters in question.

While there are many types of dyslexia and no two individuals will have the same symptoms 75 of dyslexics struggle with breaking language into its component sounds. They struggle with phonetic strategies because their brains are wired differently. I personally think it comes down to 2 reasons why we procrastinate on some things but then dont on others.

Until recently researchers assumed the challenge could. When reading they go straight to the prefrontal cortex which has this visual format of the word apple stored. Researchers now know that this difference is probably inborn.

This is how all good readers read jumping from one word to the next as they recognize its form visually. The word dyslexia comes from the Greek language and means poor language. Naturally this will affect their ability to read and spell correctly.

Just because you are bad a reading would not necessarily mean. But in children with dyslexia IQ and reading are not linked over time and do not influence one another. After all every word consists of letters in a specific sequence.

Research has shown that dyslexia happens because of the way the brain processes information. Pictures of the brain show that when people with dyslexia read they use different parts of the brain than people without dyslexia. These pictures also show that the brains of people with dyslexia dont work efficiently during reading.

They retrieve it add meaning to it and move on competently with their reading. Scientific research shows differences in brain connectivity between dyslexic and typical reading children providing a neurological basis for why reading fluently is a struggle for those with dyslexia. Dyslexia is a language disability.

It also makes it hard to spell and can impact on working memory and processing speed. Dyslexia is not a disease. This explains why a dyslexic can be both bright and not read well.

Many dyslexics have trouble with sequencing. Im not sure about you but its like my brain uses the distraction to procrastinate on purpose. Individuals with dyslexia have trouble with reading writing.

This makes it difficult to decode words which is an essential part of early reading. Reading is just one of those things and each dyslexic has a different profile of weaknesses. They simply are not able to categorize the sounds of language or connect sound to meaning in the same way as other students.

One of the reasons dyslexia is so hard to deal with is because it has a stereotype that only my reading is affected. The dyslexics who read well show greater activity in the right temporal and frontal regions instead. This isnt true at all though.

It is told from the childs perspective to help other children and their parents understand and deal with the frustrations shame and despair of not being able to read to ultimately overcome the obstacles to reading and become proud of the fascinating dyslexic. This is a book about one boys struggle with dyslexia.
